November 28th, Decide to Be Happy

"When I grow up, I'm gonna be happy and do what I like to do, like making noise and making faces, and making friends like you!'" -Diana Ross, from Free to Be You and Me, Marlo Thomas and Friends

The above quote is from Free to Be You and Me, a children's song and story album that came out when I was in high school. The stories and songs on the album spoke of an exciting time of equality and freedom for women. I loved this album and everything it symbolized. I have kept this particular song about being happy in my heart all of my life.

Happy Action:

Decide to be happy. Decide to be open to love and friendships. Be a good friend.

Excerpt from Happy on Purpose Daily Messages of Empowerment and Joy for Women, revised and expanded edition
